New Telescope for Shenandoah National Park

New Telescope for Shenandoah National Park

One of the reasons the Wild Tribute team often ventures so far from our cities is the gorgeous views we get of the evening stars from our camp site. The Night Sky Festival presented by the Shenandoah National Park Association draws thousands of people who attend a variety of talks, demonstrations, and nightly star viewing. For many of the attendees, this is their first time seeing a truly dark sky, the Milky Way, or the rings of Saturn. There’s been lines of up to 300 people at the only telescope provided by the park, so Wild Tribute decided to purchase an additional telescope to help ensure that visitors get a chance to truly appreciate the beauty above them.

Shenandoah National Park Association’s mission is to increase public understanding, appreciation, and stewardship of Shenandoah National Park by providing interpretive/educational materials, financial support, and services in resource education.
