Wind Cave National Park's Bison herd is believed to be one of only four free roaming and genetically pure herds on public lands in North America. For this reason, amongst many others, Wild Tribute put its 4 the Parks donations to work by funding the Black Hills Parks and Forests Association's Adopt a Bison Program.
The program was established two years ago and to date has raised over $20,000. The park has proposed using a large portion of the funding to purchase GPS trackers that will help research movement, grazing, and life of bison absent of direct interference.
