A new program focused on introducing female-identifying youth ages 16-20 to the various careers available in wildland fire. During this free multi-day learning experience, youth will participate in hands-on activities, field trips, and engaging dialogue with female fire professionals. Discover Your Forest partners with public land fire specialists to offer this exciting opportunity to learn about and develop relationships in the wildland fire community!
Discover Your Forest partners with natural resource specialists from public and private land management organizations to deliver multi-day, hands-on learning experiences for female-identifying students entering grades 10-12. These day camps serve as an introduction to the various careers in natural resources and provide opportunities for professional mentorship. During specialist sessions, campers learn from female natural resources professionals in careers such as recreation, timber management, fisheries, wildlife biology, engineering, public affairs, wildland fire, and more! Empowering each other, building camaraderie, and forging friendships are focal areas of this camp!
