Our 4% donations contributed to recreational scholarships for Wasatch Adaptive Sports.
Scholarships support children, adults, and veterans with adaptive needs to be able to experience the power of recreation through Wasatch Adaptive Sports programs such as skiing, biking, paddling, yoga, and more. Specifically, donations help support the overall programming needs WAS provides to their students.
A typical private lesson costs Wasatch Adaptive Sports about $102 which excludes the cost of the specialty equipment needed, ski passes, training for instructors, etc. Thanks to donors, WAS is able to offer lessons at a lower price to all students and offer it either at a discount price or completely free through the scholarship program. Last year, 74% of WAS programs were offered on full scholarship and 3,486 experiences were provided. They also saw a 32% growth in participation and hope to continue growing.
