Supporting Outdoor Education in the Deschutes National Forest and across Oregon
At Wild Tribute, our mission has always been rooted in giving back to the places that inspire us. Through our 4 the Parks program, we donate 4% of proceeds to organizations that protect and uplift America’s public lands. This year, we were proud to support Discover Your Forest and their incredible work connecting local students with the beauty and wonder of the Deschutes National Forest.
Expanding Access to the Outdoors for Title 1 Schools
Discover Your Forest helps remove barriers that often keep students, especially those from underserved communities, from experiencing outdoor education. All of their field trip offerings are free of cost to schools, ensuring that financial limitations never get in the way of kids engaging with Oregon’s natural landscapes.
Their programs go far beyond simply providing a guided walk in the woods. They supply:
- Snow gear and snowshoes
- Adaptive equipment so every child can participate
- Bus transportation for schools across Central Oregon
Even more impactful, at least 60% of their programs serve Title 1 schools, where 40% or more of the student population lives below the poverty line. For many of these students, a Discover Your Forest field trip may be their first ever immersive experience in the Deschutes National Forest.
Why This Work Matters
Outdoor education does more than teach kids about forests and wildlife. It builds confidence, curiosity, and a sense of stewardship. When students step onto snow-covered trails, see animal tracks for the first time, or learn how forests shape their environment, they begin to form a deeper connection to the world around them.
These are experiences that shape future hikers, scientists, park rangers, and environmental advocates.
How 4 the Parks Helps Make This Possible
By choosing Wild Tribute apparel, supporters help fund initiatives just like this one. Every purchase contributes to educational programs, conservation efforts, and community-based stewardship across America’s most cherished landscapes.
Our partnership with Discover Your Forest is a meaningful example of what happens when passionate nonprofits and mission-driven businesses come together. Kids gain access to transformative outdoor learning, and the Deschutes National Forest gains a new generation of caretakers.
Together, We Help the Forest Tell Its Story
We are grateful to play a role in expanding access to outdoor education in Central Oregon. The trails, volcanoes, lakes, and snow-covered forests of Deschutes inspire us, and thanks to Discover Your Forest, they are now inspiring thousands of young learners each year.
When you wear Wild Tribute, you are not just celebrating public lands. You are helping protect their future.
