Campfire Programs and Snow School in the Eastern Sierra

The Eastern Sierra Interpretive Association ("ESIA") stewards much of the incredible landscape on the other side Sierra's, adjacent to Sequoia National Park, Kings Canyon National Park, Yosemite National Park, and more.

Wild Tribute's 4 the Parks donations funded Eastern Sierra's Campfire Programs - free interpretive campfire chats at various campgrounds in Inyo National Forest - this past summer as well the Association's Snow School. Every winter, ESIA takes  5th graders from Mammoth Elementary and teaches them about snow science, starting with lessons about water, watersheds, and the water cycle. This is followed by a field trip in the snow on snow shoes exploring nature in the winter where discussion focuses on snow crystals, snow pits, snow water equivalency, and winter ecology.
